Turn important questions into rigorous research.
Our intended scientific focus is established Kernicterus: understanding the injury and investigating possibilities for meaningful treatment. The directions below are ambitions, not active programs.
Direct research & development
We aim to develop a focused research agenda, identify suitable models and measurements, and investigate approaches supported by biological rationale. No specific therapy or research program has been selected or launched.
Collaboration & future funding
We intend to bring complementary expertise together across universities, hospitals, and biotechnology organizations. As resources and governance develop, we aim to support promising research through carefully reviewed funding.
Questions that could guide the work
What changes persist after bilirubin injury? Which outcomes best capture meaningful improvement? What evidence would justify testing a potential intervention? Defining these questions with researchers and affected people is an early priority.
Standards before speed
Any future human research would require appropriate ethics review, informed consent, regulatory compliance, and careful safety monitoring. We are not recruiting for a study or offering an experimental treatment.
